Several members of the Harrison board remained near the head table.
They had seen Maya’s next document: a financial audit bearing the seal of Harrison Global Holdings.
Victor saw it too.
“That report is privileged.”
“It was provided by a lawful whistleblower,” Maya said.
“The payment to Emma was not drawn from your personal account.”
Emma looked at her sharply.
She had known the check came from a Harrison entity, but Victor’s lawyers had described it as a private family-office account.
Maya laid the original check receipt beside the audit.
“The $120 million was transferred from a corporate acquisition reserve.
It was booked as payment for a technology portfolio that never existed.
The supporting invoices were created after the transfer.”
One of the board members, Daniel Ross, stepped forward.
“Victor, is that accurate?”
“The company is mine,” Victor said.
Daniel’s expression remained cold.
“You are chairman.
You are not the company.”
Nora opened her handbag and removed a flash drive.
“The invoices, approval emails, and original ledger entries are here.
Mr.
Harrison ordered the accounting department to classify Emma as an offshore consultant.
When one controller objected, he was dismissed.”
Victor’s eyes fixed on the drive.
“You stole corporate records.”
“I preserved evidence,” Nora said.
Maya explained that Emma had placed the entire payment into an irrevocable trust within forty-eight hours.
The funds had remained under independent management for the benefit of her unborn children.
She had never used the principal to pay her rent, buy a house, or support herself.
The audit trail was clean.
Victor’s was not.
Emma had not planned to expose the financial records at the wedding.
Her purpose had been to tell Ethan about the children and stop Victor from controlling the story again.
But Victor’s decision to threaten arrest in front of witnesses had forced Maya to establish why the agreement could not be used as a weapon.
Maya removed the contract.
“This agreement restricts personal contact between Emma Carter and Ethan Harrison,” she said.
“It does not mention pregnancy, paternity, children, custody, or future disclosure.
More importantly, the agreement was procured through false statements.
Mr.
Harrison told Emma that Ethan had abandoned her.
He told Ethan that Emma had ended the pregnancy and rejected him.”
Victor laughed without humor.
“She accepted $120 million.
Do not turn her into a saint.”
Emma met his stare.
“I accepted the only shield you placed between my children and a public attack.
Then I made sure the money belonged to them, not me.”
“You could have returned it.”
“And trusted you to leave us alone?”
Victor said nothing.
Maya placed four sealed cheek-swab kits on the table.
A licensed technician waited in the adjoining room.
“Ethan may voluntarily complete a legal paternity test today,” she said.
“Results can be expedited.”
“I consent,” Ethan answered.
