Elena nodded.
“They’re in the restricted surgical office.”
Julian’s voice came from outside.
“No one enters that office without my authorization.”
Patricia answered him.
“Your authorization has been suspended.”
A few minutes later, two compliance officers retrieved the file.
Inside was a surgical consent form bearing Chloe’s name and a signature that looked like hers.
Chloe studied it for less than a second.
“That isn’t my signature.”
The form authorized Julian as the primary surgeon.
It also included permission for additional procedures if he deemed them medically necessary.
Dr.
Ruiz read it twice.
“This language is unusually broad.”
Naomi slipped the form into an evidence sleeve.
“And the signature is potentially forged.”
Outside the room, Julian’s control finally broke.
“This is absurd!” he shouted.
“I have spent twenty years building this institution.
I have saved thousands of women.
You are letting a frightened, hormonal patient and her overbearing mother destroy it.”
The corridor went still.
Chloe heard every word.
I expected her to fold inward.
Instead, she stood.
She tied the back of her gown, lifted her chin, and walked into the hallway.
“A patient,” she said.
“That’s what I am to you now?”
Julian saw the nurses, administrators, attorneys, and officers watching him.
His voice dropped.
“Chloe, come home.
We can fix this privately.”
“You said I wouldn’t survive the surgery.”
“I was angry.”
It was the first admission he had made.
Marcus’s phone recorded it.
Naomi did not blink.
“Were you also angry when you altered her medical records?”
Julian realized his mistake and stepped back.
“I admitted nothing.”
“You just characterized the threat as something said in anger.”
He looked toward the elevator.
Two detectives were walking toward him.
The court officer had contacted them after the corridor video played.
One detective spoke with Elena.
The other reviewed Chloe’s photographs, Julian’s messages, the forged consent form, and the preserved recording.
Julian tried to leave.
Patricia blocked the executive elevator with her badge.
“You cannot use hospital access while suspended.”
“Move.”
“No.”
He grabbed her wrist.
The security officer reacted instantly, separating them and forcing Julian’s hand away.
That final act happened in front of witnesses and three cameras.
